SIAD Group took part in the 49^th edition of “Barcolana”, the famous regatta that covers each year the Gulf of Trieste with an impressive sea of ​​sails, which concluded last 8^th October.

In first place, the Group sponsored, the “Barcolana Classic SIAD Trophy”regatta, which took place on Saturday, 7^th October in the San Giusto Basin. This is a competition reserved to vintage, classic and spirit of tradition vessels, organized by the “Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano” in collaboration with the “Yacht Club Adriaco”. The event is a tribute to the ladies of the sea, from large yachts that once sailed the oceans to Losinj's (Croatia) typical small boats, known as passere.

This year, SIAD Group also held a conference, which occurred on 7^th October. The round table, entitled “Research and Industry: when partnership creates value”, was led by Rosalba Reggo, Il Sole 24 Ore journalist. The panel discussion saw the participation of Alfonso Franciosi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Elettra Sincrotrone, Silvio Garattini, Director of the Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research, Stefano Ruffo, Director of the International School of Advanced Studies, Furio SuggiLiverani, Research and Innovation Director of Illy, and the Chairman of the SIAD Group, Roberto Sestini.

The latest edition of Barcolana, which took place on Sunday, 8^th October, beat the record of 2101 boats, thus becoming the most crowded regatta in the world. The open-air show had its epilogue with the victory of Spirit of Portopiccolo, the Maxi 86-sailboat lead by the brothers Furio and Gabriele Benussi from Trieste, winners for the second consecutive year.
