To ensure the correct operation of a compressor, all its components must operate to their maximum performance. In a reciprocating compressor, the deterioration of the wear components of the cylinder valves affects the ef­ ciency of operation, and this means that it is essential to perform periodic and thorough maintenance. SIAD MI’s Global Service Division is equipped with specialized valve overhaul Service Centers which provide the highest quality service to customers all over the world.

 

This service is available throughout the world thanks to SIAD MI’s Global Service valve overhaul workshops which are based at the company’s headquarters in Bergamo, for customers in Europe; and at the main SIAD MI Service Centers which offer full assistance to customers in the following territories: the Gulf region, Africa, the Far East, Australia and Latin America.

 

The processing involves various steps:

WASHING AND SANDBLASTINGThe valve is disassembled, cleaned and, through the sandblasting process, all impurities (carbon residues) are removed.

SEAT RESTORATION: Restoration of the complete fl atness of the valve seat, compromised due to wear or to the presence of the metal parts between the seat and the plate.

OXYGEN USE DEGREASING: The valves of the oxygen compressors are immersed in special tanks with a degreasing solution to remove oily residues on the surfaces, thus avoiding the risk of combustion

VALVE REASSEMBLY: Seat and guard are reassembled, the springs and plates are replaced.

TESTING ON TEST BENCH: The valve is inserted into a test bench housing and subjected to pressure. The test is carried out according to the specifi c design parameters of each type of valve.

TEST CERTIFICATION: A distinctive element of the SIAD MI valve overhaul service is the test result that certifi es the reconditioned valves and guarantees them as new. The test certifi cate is attached to the overhauled valves

VACUUM PACKING AND SHIPPING: At the end of the process the complete valve kit is packed in a secure case for shipment to the customer.

 

Thanks to periodic maintenance of the valves, this will restore their perfect seat. This guarantees correct compressor operation, energy efficiency and safe use of the valves which are  then certified as new. There is subsequently no health risks for the operators, in particular in compressors involved with critical applications (eg. :oxygen). The overhaul avoids unforeseen events and downtime, and therefore results in an optimization of the real costs of use.  Furthermore, this activity is carried out by highly specialized technicians, using original spare parts . This therefore provides an indispensable guarantee of reliability and efficiency,  with agreed timings in mimimum time (even including urgent service 24/7 ), thanks to the proximity of specialized workshops throughout the world.
